We return home.

We are home after our six month sojourn. Our last night at Jugiong in the large free camp by the river with close on 50 other vans reminds us we are one of many on journeys of their own.

Not a lot of pretty photos in this blog just some reflections starting with some small things that make our life better on the road.

Our little hand grinder, fresh beans and plunger provided us with the required caffeine  hit to get up and go another day. Both our forearms are stronger for the grinding and the ritual of making the coffee was an important constant with everything else changing daily.

Yes this is just a bin, but it collapses! This bin saved us having loose plastic bags like we used to. It was especially useful as we often had to cart our rubbish with us for a few days. It is tougher than in looks. In Manning Gorge they had signs up about securing your rubbish due to pesky crows. One night we heard a rukus and thought it was those pesky crows and peered out our side windows to instead see a large feral pig 🐖  attempting  to get in to our rubbish, but our bin survived being bashed around.

Our beautiful model is demonstrating our small hand made Tumut Broom. Just the right size and useful for removing dust, sand, mud or small insects.

Here our model shows our comfy little hideaway. Once tucked up in bed it really was our haven from storms, insets and dust. The tablet Alison is holding we imaginatively called the Green thing. We used it as our TV and streamed many shows after we retreated to our haven, normally with a glass of wine. We also used it for real time high resolution maps in the car.

Finally a note on Alison, my co-driver, navigator, activity planner, chocker extrodinare, weather reader, altitude knower, Cafe finder, checklist holder, van roadie, glasses cleaner, food orderer, fuel mileage recorder, wildflower hunter, whale shark diver, gorge climber, wild coast walker, fellow adventurer, rock under pressure and love of my life. I could not have done this wonderful trip without her, and after being mostly in different countries for a few years it was great to reconnect and renew our marriage as we head for our next adventures.
