Esperance Region

We travelled down to the coast from the Stirling Ranges through Ravensthorpe to the Fitzgerald  River National Park where we stayed in a great small campsite on Hamersley Inlet. This is a wild scenic part of the south coast. We spent our days walking the coast and over heathlands and rocky headlands.

We then spent three fairly grey days in Esperance. We enjoyed the museum, especially the bits of Starlab that fell around Esperance, walking around town and driving  the coast road. This drive has many lookouts over the rough and spectacular coast.

From Esperance we travelled the relatively short drive to The Cape Le Grand National Park. We are staying at the fantastic camp ground at Lucky Bay. Lucky Bay has incredbly fine very white sand that makes for very light blue water. We had a swim in the clear bracing water in training  for Bermagui

From here we start travelling east over the Nullarbor.
