East Kimberly

We have finally reached Western Australia and the East Kimberley. We had three nights at Lake Argyle squashed into the small sites they have there in a great location on the lake. There we went on the sunset cruise on the vast lake, spotting freshwater crocodiles then floating off the boat with pool noodles while they throw you beer cans to drink. Bizzaire but fun. We day tripped into Kununurra and decided we probably could miss staying there.

From there we went down to Purnululu National Park. Tough road in, 51 approx dips/water crossings (about a quarter with water). Bash plate on car got bashed on a rock I couldn't see in one crossing, I tied it back on with my favourite red strap and continued.

It is a fantastic place to walk and camp and one of our highlights so far. We walked , scrambled and rock hopped into some mindblowing places and collapsed to our campsite happy we had the capacity  for a quick shower in our camper.

We then travelled back north to an excellent campsite at Parry Creek near Wyndham. The food in this camp in the middle  of nowhere has been the best on our trip so far. It's also near a lagoon on the Ord River flood plain full our amazing birds and of course some crocs.

From here we head down the Gibb River Road so may not be able to publish next week. We apologise for this inconvenience 😀
